February 16, 2017: Nation’s Top Service Technician Honored by KYOCERA Document Solutions America

Ken Dishon from CTWP bests four other regional finalists in culmination of rigorous, three-stage competition.

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – February 16, 2017 – KYOCERA Document Solutions America, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, today announced the five regional finalists and one national winner of the Kyocera Technical Service Awards competition for 2016.

Ken Dishon from CTWP (based in Waco, Texas) was named the Kyocera Top Technician for 2016, among more than 4000 technicians at Kyocera dealerships throughout the United States. He will join other winners from around the world in an all-expense-paid, 7-day tour of Japan and Vietnam, including Kyocera facilities and factories in both countries.

The three-stage competition began in July with an online test of overall technical proficiency and Kyocera-specific technical expertise, including installation, preventative maintenance, and trouble-shooting for any TASKalfa MFP, ECOSYS printer, or business application. Top performers then competed in one of five on-site regional finals, where the regional winners were chosen:

  • Lance Roberts, Century Business Products, Inc., Eastern Region
  • Scott Tracy, Business Machines Company of Tennessee, Southeast Region
  • Ken Dishon, CTWP, Southern Region
  • Matt Williams, Document Technologies of America / Arizona, Southwest Region
  • Robert Finley, Advanced Business Systems, Inc., Western Region

In early December, the regional winners were awarded with a trip to the National Training Center in Dallas, Texas, where they competed in a full-day series of challenges covering any technical aspect of any Kyocera device. With a near-perfect performance, Ken Dishon emerged victorious.

“Even the most digitally advanced document solutions rely on the performance of physical, real-world devices,” said Terry Knopsnyder, Vice President of Engineering at KYOCERA Document Solutions America. “Ultimately, these exceptional technicians make everything we do possible.”
